Dr. Shahrdad Kazerani

Dr. Shahrdad Kazerani is a passionate and skilled periodontist and implant surgeon who has always been drawn to the combination of science and hands-on work. Growing up in the Bay Area, with a family of dentists, he always knew he wanted to pursue a career in dentistry.

He attended San Jose State University for a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry, and then went on to Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, where he earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree and ranked 6th in his class. He also received a 1st place award for his research at the Student Scientific Association Competition.

Dr. Kazerani continued his education at the University of Detroit Mercy where he received his Master of Science in Periodontics & Implant Surgery, and became American Academy of Periodontology Board Certified and Active member, Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He also worked as an Undergraduate Periodontics Clinic instructor at the University of Detroit Mercy.

Dr. Kazerani has over 7 years of professional experience as a periodontist, working primarily in Michigan, where he placed over a thousand dental implants and had a very successful practice. He is dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest technology, materials and techniques by attending many hours of continuing education every year. He also likes to give back to the community, and has volunteered in abroad dentistry in underserved communities in Jamaica.

He believes that spending quality time with patients during their first visit is key to a successful treatment, since periodontal diseases are mostly chronic. He loves working at Total Health, providing quality care to his patients with the latest technology and materials, and enjoys working with his wonderful staff.

In his free time, Dr. Kazerani likes to stay active. He enjoys playing a variety of sports, including professional soccer and table tennis, and has been skiing for 30 years. He also enjoys camping every couple of months and is a great pasta cook.
